Why? Because it gives voice to each and every one of us who want Congressional Democrats to stand up to Bush and end the war in Iraq.
Here's the money quote: "send him the same bill again and again - we the people will stand with you." Someone's been reading my mind!
This week, Bush's approval ratings plunged towards record lows in every major poll. Also this week, local activists organized over 60 enthusiastic impeachment events and began collecting 1 million signatures for impeachment. Outgoing Rep. Cynthia McKinney introduced Articles of Impeachment in Congress, while Liz Holtzman and David Swanson debated impeachment with Hannity and Colmes.
So you might think pollsters would connect the dots and ask Americans whether they support Bush's impeachment.
But you would be wrong.
A majority of Americans have supported impeachment since the Ipsos poll of 10/11/05. Two weeks before the November election, Newsweek again found a 51%-44% majority for impeachment.
So why aren't pollsters including an impeachment question in every poll they take?
There is a special primary in OH-03 on 9/15 because the Democratic nominee, Stephanie Studebaker, had to withdraw. Charles Sanders created an ad based on ImpeachPAC's Lie and Die ad that was previously reviewed here in Adwatch. Sanders is trying to engage activists through an action page so the end of the ad features that "call to action."
ImpeachPAC ran this ad as an independent expenditure campaign one week before the August primary. Here is the YouTube and here is the text. Our ad was initially censored by Comcast, but thanks to pressure from activists the ad finally ran on Comcast and NECN.
